Seed garlic is for planting your own crop in the fall.

German White Garlic is used whole, chopped, crushed, and minced. It is used raw in pesto, sauces and marinades and added to sautéed vegetables. It adds a pungency to soups, stews and stocks and flavor to breads, biscuits, mashed root vegetables, butters, dips and spreads. One clove of German White garlic can flavor an entire recipe. It is most often used fresh, though it is ideal for roasting. German White garlic will keep for up to 10 months when kept in a cool, dark space.

Chesnok Red Garlic has a full and spicy flavor with a mellow aftertaste that remains even when cooked.. It is best for baking and adds a sweet garlic flavor without heat to dishes. It has a distinct smell, more like roasting a sweet onion than a garlic.

Purple Italian Garlic can be used just like white garlic as it has a slightly milder flavor.  It won’t overwhelm a dish when raw ( think minced into a salad dressing or rubbed on toasted bread). Some say that purple garlic’s flavor lingers longer after cooking than white garlic.

Montana Giant Garlic has a robust earthy flavor that peaks with a high heat intensity but mellows quickly. Excellent for cooking.

Italian Red Garlic the flavor is rich and complex with a bit of heat which is long lasting but seldom harsh tasting. Use this garlic for sauces, pesto or eating raw.

Let's make GARLIC BUTTER!!

Air Fryer Directions: Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.

Cut the top off the head of garlic and place on a square piece of aluminum foil. Bring the foil up and around the garlic. Pour olive oil on top and season with salt and pepper. Close ends of foil over garlic, creating a pouch. Air fry until the garlic is soft, 16 to 20 minutes. Open the foil pouch very carefully, as hot steam will escape. Can do multiple heads of garlic at a time depending on the size of your air fryer.

Add the entire bulb to a stick of softened butter with fresh ground kosher salt and pepper, fresh parsley and fresh thyme to make a delicious compound butter.

Oven Directions: Same prep as for air fryer - bake at 350 degrees until soft               approximately 30 minutes.

The Top 8 Health Benefits of Garlic

Did you know that the average person consumes 2 pounds of garlic each year?

Why Is Garlic Healthy For You?

By slicing, chopping, or crushing garlic bulbs, the thio-Sulfinite chemicals in them are converted into allicin. Allicin is a fantastic substance.

1. Garlic Helps Boost Your Body's Immune System

Your body’s immunity is what keeps it from getting sick in the first place, and it also aids in the fight against illness when the situation calls for it. Garlic offers an immune system boost to help prevent colds and the flu virus.

2. Garlic Helps Reduce High Blood Pressure

Strokes and heart attacks are two of the most significant health concerns worldwide. Garlic is a fantastic spice to include in your diet for those suffering from high blood pressure or hypertension.

3. Garlic Helps Reduce Cholesterol Levels

Cholesterol is a fatty component in the blood. There are two kinds of cholesterol: “bad” LDL cholesterol and “good” HDL cholesterol. Far too much LDL cholesterol and not enough HDL cholesterol can cause serious health issues.

4. Garlic Can Help With Prevention of Cancer

Garlic’s health benefits do not end with the heart. So here is another reason why your body can benefit from an extra dose of this onion family member.

5. Garlic Has Antibiotic Properties

Garlic contains allicin. Allicin is a bioactive antibiotic that can help fight infections and bacteria in sliced, squashed, or diced cloves. Garlic extracts have been shown to suppress the growth of:

  • fungi elements

  • Protozoa elements

  • viral infections

  • numerous bacteria, for example, Salmonella

6. Garlic May Prevent Alzheimer’s and Dementia

Garlic has high antioxidants, which help prevent any oxidative damage from occurring in your body. These antioxidant properties can help prevent certain cognitive diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s. However, take this one with a pinch of garlic. Taking high doses of garlic supplements, however, does not mean that you will be immune to the disease. The medicinal properties of garlic can only improve health to a certain point.

7. Garlic Can Improve Athletic Performance

This ingredient is one of the earliest performance enhancers available. Garlic was used in the olden days to alleviate weariness and boost laborers’ working hours and endurance. It was also fed to Greek Olympic athletes to boost their athletic performance.

As discussed above, garlic can help:

  • Cholesterol levels

  • Lower blood pressure

  • Boosts immunity

  • Reduces the length of illness

8. Garlic Helps Detox Your Body

Detoxification is the process of getting rid of things that don’t belong in the body. It is an important part of good health and long life.

Raw Garlic

Adds a savory pungent bite to every dish it's used in, but some people find the strong flavor off -putting.

Roasting garlic in the oven brings out its unique flavor while softening its rough edges.
